Media6 IMG is seeking a Buyer / Inventory Control Coordinator to work with the Purchasing and Finance teams to ensure adequate inventory of required materials are on hand as needed and the cost of the materials is accurate. Responsibilities
- Work with business areas to define their needs and identify existing core suppliers to meet their requirements.
- Places purchase orders based on received Purchase Requisitions
- Follows up on purchase orders.
- Enter item costing on BOM’s.
- Test quarter end cut off for sales and inventory to determine the appropriate quarterly inventory valuation.
- Work with project managers to identify, document and dispose of obsolete inventory when required.
- On a quarterly basis with project managers and finance, run reports to ensure all shipped orders have been invoiced.
- Develop a master data form for new vendor set up for approval.
- Participate in physical inventory and cycle counting.
- Work with vendors to ensure product availability, delivery scheduling and solve any issues.
- File purchase orders together with all back up correspondence.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust reorder points and min-max levels to minimize inventory and maximize service levels. Effectively manage the purchase order replenishment process with a focus on matching inventory levels (supply) with the needs of our customers (demand).
- Participate as an active cross-functional team member, along with Warehouse, Production, and customer service staff as well as other key functional areas of the business for effective production planning execution.
- Monitors contract deliverables, ensure that all elements of the goods or services are delivered in accordance of the purchase order, identifies and resolves issues, between the supplier and the clients and terminates contracts for non-compliance of contractual obligations.
- Manage supplier relationships, collect supplier data and analyze supplier performance. Monitor and report savings and performance metrics (KPI’s).
- Commitment to process control discipline including documentation of policies and procedures where necessary.
- Purchase Order Entry in QuickBooks, Analyze Inventory demand reports from production control.
- Follow up on all orders including verification of deliveries, communication of discrepancies and late shipments.
- Work closely with all departments, including Operations, customer service and production departments.
- Perform all other assigned duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 1 - 3 years experience in Purchasing, Inventory Control, or related fields
- Must have strong keyboarding skills – speed and accuracy
- Must be proficient in MS Office, working knowledge of QuickBooks is an asset
- Must be a team player, detail oriented
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain or related field of study, or relevant practical experience
- Manufacturing experience with metal, wood, plastic, and electrics is an asset
- Practical experience working in ERP or other business planning systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access or other databases such as SQL is an asset
